Kerry's '65 Ford...runs like a top!
With the arrival of autumn and rain here in the Pacific Northwest, my thoughts turn to creating and seeking the handmade things that make my heart sing. I have been scouring other crafty blogs for inspiration! There are SO many creative people out there; I love to see what other kindred spirits have been dreaming up! I intent to make this a *Real* blog one of these days...

I am trying to become a more frequent visitor to my own blog, but I keep forgetting the log-in info. Then I have to reset the password, which is really not that difficult but it IS just one more thing to do that takes MORE time.

I was so excited after hosting the Fleatique Tag Sale here on the farm. (What farm, right? Stay tuned about that!) Anyway, Michelle and I decided to clear out the old garage and stage our NEXT sale in there! We had lots of positive feedback from the sale, and it looks like the stage is set for grander things, as I had once envisioned. Hubby is working on the barn, and plans to roof it next summer. Why not dream big and say, 2011 for the future gala Blueberry Dreams flea-market. (Still working on the name)

It's so satisfying to walk out to my field of blueberry bushes and pick our own berries. No hoarding, there's plenty for all. Even the birds, but I must admit feeling a little resentful when I see all the wasted berries lying on the ground, or the ones still on the bushes that have been pecked.
I've come up with this simple salad, which has had rave reviews by all who try it. One of my favorite places to eat lunch with friends is Panera Bread, so it was with their salads in mind that I threw this together. Blueberry Poppyseed Salad.

I wanted the barn. I would walk past it and think about what I could do if I had 'The Barn'. That was before we owned the barn. That was when we had a little house on a little lot, but big dreams. Be careful what you wish for....

You see, we fixed up that little house and sold it. We rented for a year while looking for our next project. That is how 'The Barn' came to be in our possession. It was for sale for a long time. It became a distressed property, and the price was finally right. We bought the property for a song, because it was a fixer. Right up our alley, we thought.

It's still a fixer. Even more, I think. We have been working hard, whittling away. But Mother Nature is having her way with the barn.

This will be an adventure in finding ways to salvage material and making this awesome structure a part of the scenery for many years to come. Without a dream, it won't happen. There is another aspect to this story. TO BE CONT....
